Meet Jack
Jack's interest in the military began when his cousin joined the Army in 2008. Jack would mark his cousins military assignment locations on the globe he had by his bedside. For Jack's 6th birthday he received a set of Army fatigues which he wore non-stop. He wore them everywhere, and wanted to wear them everyday! His mom finally had to say enough was enough, and he can only wear them once a week to school!
In November 2009 Jack pulled a wagon with pictures of his hometown heroes in the Veteran's Day parade while walking with the Blue Star Mothers Group from Modesto, Ca. At the end of the parade route Jack passed out candy to people, met some of the local heroes both old and young, and took lots of photos with people. The following week Jack helped the Modesto Blue Star Mothers at their holiday packing party for the troops. Jack took his time selecting the items he wanted to go into the care boxes he was packing.
It was after this packing party that Jack started saving his own snacks from his school lunch so he could send them to his cousin who was deployed to Afghanistan.
After collecting some lunch snacks, Jack said he needed more snacks for all the troops. In order to buy the snacks Jack sold fatigue clad snowmen ornaments at Christmas time. He raised enough money to send out over 200 "Snack Packs" in January 2010.
And so began Jack's Snack Packs, a Non-Profit Organization run by 100% volunteers, with 100% of donations going to Snack Packs that are sent to deployed service members around the world.
